Few bands of the 1960s retained as much a sense of the roots of rock and roll as did Creedence Clearwater Revival. Their music is rife with country, rockabilly, and R&B influences, a combination that produced several hit singles--most of which are present on this collection. These include "I Heard It through the Grapevine," "Lodi," "Up Around the B ," "Who'll Stop the Rain," and of course "Bad Moon Rising." This is an excellent greatest-hits collection, and a perfect introduction to the music of a band that has been enduringly influential. --Genevieve Williams

CCR.......2007-06-28
An excellent greatist hits CD, I used a handful of songs to burn a CD with other related style of music.
great stuff.......2007-06-27
listening to this CD makes you realize how great john fogerty was back in the day. great songs, great sound.
Gets me going in the morning.......2007-06-27
I've been listening to this CD for 2 weeks in my car on the way to work.
Soundtrack of an era.......2007-06-15
This is an excellent compilation of CCR's tunes from the late 60s, early 70s. There's a reason why Credence tunes kept popping up in movies and commercials. It's great music and evocative of the era from which it comes. No need for me to review the individual tunes; anybody with a radio has head most of them. A must-have for any music fan.
Fogerty.......2007-06-10
Great value. If you are into the 60s' and 70s' you will love this one.

Customer Reviews:
Great but Still Wanted More.......2007-06-27
First, I do not like the cover. But beyond that, the CD is great fun to listen to. John Denver had so many hits, that this doesn't cover all of them by any means, but it is a great CD to take you back to a more peaceful time musically. It makes me want to bring out my guitar and play along.
TRUELY a song's best friend!.......2007-05-28
what else can i say? at 36, and i grew up in a strictly religious household, so i missed him growing up, but i got spots going into public places & whatnot. i remember a vacation while young in the WV woods when one of his most popular songs was on the radio & i memorized it the first time i heard it and sung it to myself time and time again, while walking through the woods or horse back riding- just enjoying nature. he has a way of giving you nature and the beauty of it in a song. God gave us such as one as him so we could stop and remember the beauty of all that is around us all the time.
John Denver definative all time greatest hits.......2007-05-26
This must be the best John Denver of all, it has the lot
All of John Denver's Greatest Hits.......2007-05-23
John Denver passed away in October, 1997 while piloting a small airplane. Before that, he left an indelible mark on the pop music industry. By combining harmonic vocals with a recognizable acoustic sound, John's music still remains popular with fans of all ages.
From the autobiographical "Rocky Mountain High" to the melodic and uplifting "Calypso", this collection contains many of John's most famous songs. Other selections include "Annie"; a song John wrote for his wife, "Take me Home, Country Roads", and "Thank God I'm a Country Boy".
I wasn't a big fan of John Denver before I bought this CD, but I really enjoy listening to his music now. This is the perfect disc for the casual fan, because all of his most popular hits are on it; there's no need to buy several other discs to get them.
I give this great collection my highest recommendation. If you're a major fan or just a casual fan, then this is the CD you'll want to own.

Though he rose from the ranks of journeyman '60s folksinger to become a potent and consistent '70s hit maker, Canadian singer-songwriter Gordon Lightfoot's stock in trade was as much hard-eyed, dispassionate observation as romance or poetic whimsy. Perhaps that's why his songs have been covered by everyone from Elvis (this set's "Early Morning Rain") to Dylan. If there's such a thing as an alpha-male folkie, Lightfoot certainly fits the bill. Spanning the tongue-in-cheek chauvinism of 1965's "For Lovin' Me" and the cheatin' ways of "Sundown" to more introspective fare like "If You Could Read My Mind" and "Beautiful," this 20-track collection presents a concise primer on Lightfoot's career and craft. After his career peaked with one of the most unlikely top five hits ever, the gloom-laden 1976 narrative "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald," Lightfoot's production tailed off sharply, though this anthology's "Stay Loose" ('86) and "Restless" ('93) are testament to his enduring skills as a songwriter and performer. --Jerry McCulley

If you're in a mellow mood, this is perfect.......2007-06-05
I knew many of the songs before I received this album as a gift. There were more on there that I knew and even the ones I didn't know are pretty good.
Excellent CD, Singer & Songwriter.......2007-03-28
It had been a long time since I had heard anything by Gordon Lightfoot. As I listened to the songs play, it was like he was telling me stories. Short narratives put to music & played flawlessly. Gordon Lightfoot has been a favorite of mine for some time & listening to "The Wreck of the Edmond Fitzgerald" is just awesome from beginning to end. You can feel the power of the waves hitting the freighter & the futility on the crews efforts. There were many other songs I had not heard before, but they too were just as good. That is the benefit of buying a collection of tunes on a "Greatest Hits" CD. His singing & guitar playing are very good throughout the CD. Check it out.
G. Lightfoot-Complete Greatest Hits.......2007-01-23
I bought this for my son for Christmas. That was on the top of the list. He loves it, just exactly what he wanted.
The timeless voice and music of Gordon Lightfoot.......2007-01-14
It's just not possible to get tired of this fantastic singer-songwriter. The only tune missing from this collection is "Don Quixote", which has a message we all could appreciate these days. Thank you for the music, Gordon!

Tim McGraw's second greatest-hits collection in six years is also his ninth consecutive debut at #1 on the Billboard country charts. That means he must be doing something right. But what, precisely, aside from keeping up his hunk factor, and maturing his voice? Well--choosing dynamic songs that resonate at the very core of most folks' emotional center, for starters. So it's no surprise that this 16-song package kicks off with "Live Like You Were Dying," his ten-week #1 crossover hit. In addition to chart-toppers dating from 1995 ("Not a Moment Too Soon"), McGraw fills the track list with two smashes that never appeared on his own albums: his Grammy-winning duet with wife Faith Hill, "Like We Never Loved At All," and "Over and Over," the soulful Nelly confession in which McGraw, his voice technically altered, essentially serves as the rapper's tortured psyche. Of the four new songs, a cover of Ryan Adams's "When the Stars Go Blue" emerges as a stellar example of the pained loner ballads McGraw does so well, and brings to mind the faint desperation inherent in his interpretation of Elton John's "Tiny Dancer." And "My Little Girl," one of two rare McGraw co-writes here (joining "I've Got Friends Who Do"), draws on his experience as a parent and promises to flatten any father who's ever tucked in his daughter. Through the years, McGraw's on-record persona has evolved from the wimpish underdog ("Don't Take the Girl") to the strong, sensitive alpha male, both in his take-charge delivery and his sometimes edgy repertoire ("Red Ragtop"). All in all, this lengthy, hooky offering isn't just a "value pack" for McGraw fans--it's reason to hire a skywriter. --Alanna Nash
Album Description
Tim McGraw Reflected: Hits Vol 2, his second collection of greatest hits. Showcasing a body of work bookended by 1994's "Not A Moment Too Soon" and 2006's "My Old Friend," it is a reminder of the consistency and depth that have made him such an icon. Several of the songs are drawn from two albums he recorded in a mountaintop retreat with his touring band, 2002's Tim McGraw & the Dancehall Doctors, and 2004's Live Like You Were Dying. Together, they sold seven million copies, and between them they produced hits like "Watch The Wind Blow By," "Red Ragtop," "She's My Kind of Rain," "Real Good Man," and the ten-week #1, "Live Like You Were Dying," all of which are included here. The project also includes "Everywhere," from the CD of the same name, and "Grown Men Don't Cry" and "The Cowboy In Me," from 2001's "Set This Circus Down."
Customer Reviews:
good music.......2007-05-14
My daughter is getting married and wanted a song from this cd to use I was delighted that I liked the other music just as well
Butchery.......2007-04-06
A decent collection overall of his "good" songs (I don't really like him anyways), but he completely manages to butcher "When the Stars Go Blue." The original is WAY better, and The Corrs covered it with Andrea and Bono (from U2) MUCH better. The country twang just totally kills the mood of the song. I am a professional audio engineer, and heard him do this song live and it just made me cringe. Skip this CD.
not the best.......2007-03-28
Not Tim's best work. I only liked 1 of the tracks. Spend your money on his most recent albums. I don't think these were his greatest hits.
Great songs on this CD.......2007-03-26
I love this entire CD. This one is worth it. Sometimes I have bought a CD for 1 or 2 songs. This one is full of great songs.
He's Horrible.......2007-03-04
McGraw is a pretentious, talentless slimeball who exploits the ignorance and poor taste of his fans. His songs are mediocre at best and generally unlistenable to anyone who appreciates good music. Basically, he is a talentless slob who ranks among all the other bubble-gum pop/country performers as forgettable and pretentious.
And if that wasn't enough, he absolutely butchers Ryan Adams' beautiful song "When The Stars Go Blue." It's tough to hear McGraw hack such a lovely song, but at least Adams (who is one of the better singer/songwriters around in any genre) is making some money for it.
If you like good music or real artists, you should look elsewhere - perhaps check out Ryan Adam's original version of "When The Stars Go Blue". Regardless, McGraw is a classless act and a mockery to the country music establishment.

At his best, as exemplified by his 1999 megahit "How Do You Like Me Now?!" Keith is simple and direct in the tradition of Hank Williams Jr.--aware of his limitations, able to thrive within them. "Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (The Angry American)" struck a chord, though it differed little from the fist-shaking morale-boosters of previous wars. On the downside, Keith's formulaic tendencies can become tiresome, as it did on "My List," a generic celebration of life's mundane treasures. Sales notwithstanding, "Beer for My Horses" was no artistic landmark for Keith or duet partner Willie Nelson. By contrast, he and daughter Krystal have fun with the 1963 Inez and Charlie Foxx R&B hit "Mockingbird" (first revived by James Taylor and Carly Simon). "Go With Her" injects a different spin into the time-honored breakup song, wittiness absent on the gimmicky "Stays in Mexico." Raucous live performances of "You Ain't Much Fun" and his debut hit, "Should've Been a Cowboy," reflect his ability to rouse the faithful into the obligatory singalong. --Rich Kienzle

Toby Keith's Greatest Hits 2.......2007-05-07
This one is my favorite Toby Keith CD. I like the others as well but I find I play Greatest Hits 2 more often.
Keep them coming...Keith.......2007-04-16
I bought this Greatest Hits 2 because it has a lot of my favorite songs on it. My favorites are: "How Do You Like Me Now"; "I'm Just Talkin' About Tonight"; "I Wanna Talk About Me"; "Beer For My Horses" duet with Willie Nelson; "Mockingbird" duet with Krystal; "You Ain't Much Fun"; and "Should've Been a Cowboy". I also like "Stays in Mexico". I had to buy another CD to get my very favorite "Big Blue Note". All in all this CD was well worth the money. By the way, I am a 67 year old grandma that loves country western music.

with him mellow voice all the songs Toby sings; gives this woman the chrills; he is very nice looking. I think he is an easy going type guy; with the most wonderful voice...
Now, I do like you good!!!.......2007-02-24
Smashing. A top-notch selection of up-to-date hits (How do you like me now?, Who's your daddy?), a memory trip with "Should've been a cowboy", some food for thought (My List), duets with Krystal and Willie Nelson (real duets and not just them singing in the back) and plain good old country pieces where Toby Keith gets to display his wry humor, raising that knowing smile that echoes better than a guffaw. In sum, if you were considering to get it, don't hesitate any longer. Do it! You will definitely not regret it. There are no weak spots in this CD.

In the abstract, there are two Martina McBrides heard in this ample collection, which features 14 hits from the Kansas-born singer's studio albums, along with four inspired new cuts. At one extreme there's the demure cover-girl-pretty warbler who serves up fervent and endearing love pledges like "Wild Angels," "Safe in the Arms of Love," and "I Love You." Then there's the mature, poised, socially conscious mother of two who grapples with darker topics like poverty and inequality ("Love's the Only House") and child and spousal abuse (the wrathful "Independence Day" and the ineffably sad "Concrete Angel"). There are certainly impressive samples of both Martinas on this anthology. On other cuts--like the bluesy, naughty new track "When God-Fearin' Women Get the Blues" and the angry "Life #9"--the forces of light and darkness, anger and felicity, commingle in a manner that's no less intriguing and provocative. --Bob Allen
Customer Reviews:
Shows why Martina is a Star.......2007-07-09
This is a great collection of Martina's stuff through 2001. Martina has a powerhouse of a voice. This album was a big part in my coming to accept country singers, instead of just rock or pop. Here are just the best tunes:
My Baby Loves Me - great intro tune, a salute to unconditional love
Life #9 - another high energy hit. Martina tells roaming man he is down to his last chance
Independence Day - stirring song about tragic effects of domestic violence
Safe in the Arms of Love
Wild Angels
Happy Girl - very fun and energetic song
Whatever You Say
Love's the Only House - social commentary by Martina
When God Fearing Women Get the Blues - a funny and energetic song about a straight-laced woman who just cuts loose one day
With 19 songs, most of them winners, this CD is a great buy for the fan and an excellent intro to Martina and modern female country for others.
Martina's greatest hits.......2007-05-20
Country music is a genre I usually tend to avoid like the bubonic plague. I find the majority of it annoying to the nth degree. I will though make the rare occasion with Johnny Cash, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Kasey Chambers, Lucinda Williams, and Martina McBride. I will admit that at one point I even owned a couple of Martina's cds over the years before my musical tastes evolved into something edgier, darker, and more aggressive.
I recently got a hold of Martina's greatest hits from a several years ago. I almost forgot just how great of a singer she is compared to a lot of female artists nowadays (regardless of genre). I do though wish that "The Time has Come" from Martina's first album was on the album. Other than missing that particular song, I enjoyed listening to Martina's greatest hits especially "Independence Day" which for some ODD reason has kept Martina off some country radio's playlists to this very day. I guess the truth hurts. I am still emotionally moved by the lyrics. I don't know why since I have never been the victim of domestic abuse but the song resonates with me. I also still love "My Baby Loves Me" and "Safe in the Arms of Love" and "Wild Angels". As sappy as "Valentine" is, I actually like the song. Big guilty pleasure with me. A lot of the songs on the cd are new to me. I particularly like "Wrong Again". Great melodies.
What I like about Martina's music is that it is never obnoxiously twangy which is why I hate most country music. Martina really has great taste in picking which songs she will put on her albums. The heartfelt lyrics, catchy melodies, and her powerhouse vocals are an excellent combination.
New to country music.......2007-05-07
I am new to this genre of music, having some familiarity with Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, LeAnn Rimes, Shelby Lynn. I found Martina to have great vocals and sound. This ablum is highly recommended.
The World of McBride - Magnificent.......2007-04-20
For someone who isn't even much of a modern country-music fan, I was just blown away by the sheer artistry and song choice on this incredible Greatest Hits Compilation.
You know, Greatest Hits compilations are tricky things, because, as you may have personally experienced, they can sometimes be surprisingly bland and weak (Shania Twain's compilation for instance - why exactly was that album so boring), or unexpected gifts (like both of Tim McGraw's Hits Compilations - who knew he had such quality work under his belt?).
Martina's Greatest Hits CD falls firmly into the category of `classic'. I mean, theres just no other way to describe it. Granted, that rare `Hope Floats' track isn't there (and what a track that was!) but every other one of her amazing hits is here, alongwith 4 quality new tracks (though they DO pale in the face of her more critically successful work). The best songs here are of course "I Love You" and the incomparable "Independence Day".
The only `commercial' track here is "Valentine" with Jim Brickman (never can stand that song for some reason - too sappy), but this is all made up for by the other great torch songs Martina has sung.
Martina is more of a country vocalist than a country singer, which is why I guess the album is heavier on the slower songs. But not to worry, every song is a gem, and I whole-heartedly recommend this album to everyone, even if you're NOT a country fan.
This is the perfect road trip album. One of the few CDs you can play all the way through. I have it on my Itunes and its about the second or third album I've ever played all the way through without skipping tracks. Commendable!
OK CD VERY SLOW.......2007-04-17
THIS CD IS NOT MARTINAS BEST. I LIKE HER A LITTLE SO FOR ME I GUESS ITS THE FACT OF NOT BEING A BIG FAN. MY FAVORITE SONG ON THIS CD IS CONCRETE ANGEL.

One question would be: What took him so long? After all, a contemporary like Van Morrison has sold boatloads of his single-disc best-of set to buyers wary of diving into that deep catalog without a primer to get them started. So three and a half decades into his solo career, Neil Young finally delivers his version of that most modest of albums--the pre-holiday "hits" overview. What's surprising, coming from such a proud maverick, is its conventionality. Granted, the original master mixes are a boon for fans, but otherwise, there's not much here for loyalists who quite likely already possess the original "Like a Hurricane" on a couple of albums, as well as a handful of live interpretations scanning the years. Since Young cracked the Top 10 only once (1972's "Heart of Gold"), this set is built around concert staples as "Cinnamon Girl," "Rockin' in the Free World," and "Hey, Hey, My My" rather than chart favorites. Despite Young's honorable standing as a still-vital graybeard, the disc is skewed heavily toward his early work, shortchanging some mighty productive recent years. Peripheral fans may find this set of interest, but faithful followers are better advised to investigate the DVD version, which, at least, includes videos, photos, lyrics, and Web links. --Steven Stolder
Album Description
His first ever CD greatest-hits collection, Neil Young's Greatest Hits is a long-awaited retrospective from one of rock's most influential and enduring singer-songwriters. With 16 selections spanning his entire career since 1969, Greatest Hits features some of the greatest hits of rock'n'roll, period.

Zib Zob and Janice S.G. Are Right.......2007-06-22
This recording is distorted and it sounds as if he is singing with helium. Even the newer tracks sound as if they were recorded analog with outdated equipment. Many people are not aware that Mr. Young recorded back in 1966 under the name Napoleon XIV. And yet not one those hits appear here!
I agree with Janis, and also..........2007-06-09
it's too bad that "Diamond Girl" and "Alone Again, Naturally" did not make it onto this album. Then, I would give it a 4 star rating. Really.
Inexplicably skips one of his biggest hits.......2007-05-15
Although this is a nice collection of songs by CSNY's whiny singer, it's obvious that Young has never been able to write new songs as good as he could from 1970-1972. It makes you think he should have retired after his first few albums, doesn't it?
A word to the wise, if you're looking for "Horse With No Name," keep on looking, because it's not included in this set.
Excellent Restrospective of a Great Career.......2007-04-24
Actually, I'd give this CD four and a half stars. The only thing that prevents a five-star review is that any greatest hits of someone as important as Neil Young needs to have 2 CDs to cover all the material the man has produced over the years. Sound quality excellent, and the versions are full-length, as much as ten minutes in the case of 'Cowgirl in the Sand'. Neil Young was one of the seminal singer/songwriters of the sixties and early seventies, and his works capture the era of protest and baby-boomers coming of age. The song selection is good for a single CD. As someone who has most of Young's work on vinyl, I realize that this retrospective is only about half what deserves to be included, but it is a good start, and highly recommended.
Some hits and some album cuts.......2007-04-10
While this is an excellent collection of some of Young's best work, it is not really a greatest hits collection. While it includes his biggest hits(Heart of Gold, Old Man, and Only Love Can Break Your Heart), it omits some of his other hits and includes songs that were never even released as singles. I am a bit surprised that they included both "Cowgirl in the Sand" and "Southern Man" on a single CD, since they are very similar musically. Of the two I always liked "Cowgirl" better, "Southern Man" is cliché ridden and perpetuates anti-southern stereotypes. All-in-all this is a solid collection for the casual Young fan.

Shania Twain--recluse, happily married, mother of one--has sold more than 40 million albums with flirty, hook-laden, beat-heavy, country-tinged pop that has all the subtlety of a musical wet T-shirt contest, yet is as irresistible as Swiss chocolate and Pringles. There are a few heartfelt, moon-in-June love ballads on this generous and long-awaited 20-song collection, which includes three new songs along with all the predictable chart-toppers and near-chart-toppers. But it's the mostly nonstop, uptempo booty-shakers--too often with garish overproduction and vapid lyrics--that, for the unconverted, tend to run together after a while. No doubt, this relentlessly upbeat retrospective will keep Twain's millions of fans jumping up and down on their sofas. --Bob Allen

Shania Twain - Greatest Hits.......2007-06-08
This CD is greatest. Her music is very moving. This is now my greatest CD. I am very glad I chose this one. You will not be disappointed at all.
Love it!.......2007-04-30
This album has alot of my favorites, plus the 2 versions of "I'm Having a Party", and "I Ain't No Quitter". The guitar play in "Quitter" is so good-extremely catchy! I love, love, love "Ain't no Quitter" and don't understand why it didn't have more airtime. And "Having A Party" just makes you want to move - it's so totally upbeat. Plus all the other songs-I love all of her music, so it's hard for me to pick favorites. I have all of Shania's albums and download them onto miy MP3 so I can hear them while I work out, etc. I'm anxiously waiting for her to give us another album! BUt this is a great one to buy and enjoy.
JUST what I was looking for!.......2007-04-21
No, seriously, this is GOOD! I got some birthday money and I wanted a Shania Twain album, but I wanted all her best songs on one CD. Then, this came out: It had all the songs I wanted and then some! It is just awesome. She has a great voice that's easy on the ears, her lyrics really flow together, and her songs are in a variety of sounds - not just all sound the same, like SOME of the artists you get these days!
And my aunty and my mum like her, so finally I can play some music I like in the car without being griped at!
A fantastic album, everyone whos loving pop and/or country music should sooooooo get this!
Lori Virginia.......2007-04-03
I think this is a great cd with a variety of her greatest hits all on one cd
Excellent Voice.......2007-01-12
This is a must for all Shania Twain lovers. Her voice is so wonderful, the songs are so uplifting, don't let this stay out of your collection.

The pre-Hotel California years were arguably the best for The Eagles (though there were, thanks to Joe Walsh, some stellar future moments). Their mix of country, folk, and rock had a harder, grittier edge, and helped define what would become known as the Southern California sound. There was just enough of a country feel in the beautiful harmonies of "Best of My Love," to blur the edges between the genres. "Take It Easy" and "Lyin' Eyes" could easily have come out of the new Nashville school, as well. The twang that characterizes the guitar intro to "Already Gone" and the leads in "Witchy Woman" and "One of These Nights," also pays tribute to country's guitar greats. Greatest Hits 1971-1975 houses a scant ten singles, but not only does it illustrate the magic of the collaboration between Glen Frey and Don Henley, it shows the breadth of The Eagles impact on the many who would follow their lead. --Steve Gdula

Fly with the Eagles.......2007-06-10
Great collection that you will enjoy. Its got some essential Eagle hits that really are gems. A fine collection of music from a fine collection of musicians.
Flyin' High - 4 Ever.......2007-03-09
This record ranks as the #1 best selling album in the American Music Industry, so I guess that speaks for iteslf. 41 million copies worldwide and still selling, probably indicates just how their music appeals to all young and old...
If you want an introduction to the Eagles buy this and also "Hotel California" and you'll be set.
Take It Easy is as fresh now as it was in 1973 (and still stands as the best ever Eagles song recorded - that opening "G" chord still sends shivers down one's spine!) Contains all the great stuff pre-Hotel California.
However, if you want a far more comprehensive collection of Eagles songs - buy the double CD "Complete Greatest Hits".
The title says it all!.......2006-12-18
This album can afford to be out of print now that there's the surpassing THE VERY BEST OF THE EAGLES. Here are ten chart-risers that were previously released respectively on the band's first four non-compilation releases,THE EAGLES,DESPERADO,ON THE BORDER and ONE OF THESE NIGHTS.
A smooth shot of tequila.......2006-12-06
This album stops a bit early in the Eagles' career, just before the release of "Hotel California," and that's to its advantage because there isn't a dud on the album. After this, it was hit or miss for them. The standouts here are "One of These Nights," "Best of My Love," and the underrated, overlooked, and totally awesome "Tequila Sunrise." Great music for singing along in the car (especially the doo-doo-doos at the end of "Peaceful Easy Feeling").
A 70's classic, but now obsolete.......2006-11-03
This was a must have album in the 1970's, but it has since been superceded by their "The Very Best of" 2 CD set. This CD is simply a song for song re-issue of the vinyl album, so it only contains 10 songs from their early days. Which would be fine if this were a budget release, but it is not. The songs on here are great, but I think you would get a better value from buying "The Very Best of The Eagles" collection. It spans their entire career and includes 33 songs on 2 CDs.
I know they want to keep selling this CD since it is the biggest selling album of all time, but they need to cut the price or at least throw in a few bonus tracks.

With a sad tenor that sounded like Mr. Haney from Green Acres, Tim McGraw, a freshman in country's crowded class of '92, seemed the least likely to graduate to superstardom. But eight years and 20 million albums and singles later, here he is with a greatest hits package so stuffed with songs--15 in all--that it doesn't have room for any new tunes, or even the best of all, "Everywhere." McGraw's appeal is two-fold: Aside from his unlistenable duets with wife Faith Hill and the abysmal "Indian Outlaw" that jump-started his career, he's had excellent taste in songs. And he's the epitome of the average guy in search of extraordinary love--the loser who becomes a winner. You see it all here, in the hate-it-but-love-it "Don't Take the Girl," the adrenaline rush of "Something Like That," and the infectious "I Like It, I Love It." If this album doesn't give hope to every karaoke singer in America, nothing will. --Alanna Nash
Customer Reviews:
great songs.......2007-05-17
Indian Outlaw is what put Tim McGraw on the map and it is a great song. Some people do not like the song because of its lyrics, in this day and age I guess everyone has to be politically correct. I like this song becase it is fast and fun. I think it is one his greatest songs. Tim McGraw is a very good singer and this cd is a good start if you are just getting into Tim and country music.
NOT THE BEST ONE FOR ME..........2007-03-29
someone told me that Tim McGraw was the best in country music... i bought this cd because i heard some of his songs at a line dance club, and i didnt like this cd that much i only loved the songs "just to see you smile" and "it's your love" man i loved them! but that's about it
Yeeeeeeeeee Haww.......2007-01-22
Don't fuget to smack da wife and leave a bag o' grain for yer 13 kids ta eat bufor ya go to da Mcgraw concert.
Classic.......2007-01-09
The CD has some of McGraw's classic tunes and is a real fun listener. My only complaint would be its opening track, Indian Outlaw, which I consider annoying and almost scared me from the rest of the CD.
A must have.......2007-01-04
If you've got all the individual albums, you probably don't need a greatest hits CD. But, I'd never gotten around to purchasing any of McGraw's albums. Between this and vol 2, there is pretty much every song you've ever heard on the radio and then some.
