About the Artist
One half of what is now called Clear Blue 22 was formed in 1993 when Paul Reyes (rhythm guitar and lead vocals) and Don Simpson (bass) began writing music and performing together. Dave Block (drums), a longtime friend of Paul's, joined the group in 1998. Still, something else was missing. When Paul came across a "Female Vocalist Seeks Band" ad that Jasmine Schwader (lead vocals) placed at a local music store, it all seemed to come together. Jasmine auditioned for the band in June of 2001 and has been a member ever since. With the addition of a new member, the band felt that it was time to come up with a new name. While at a band barbecue in July of 2001, Jasmine looked up at the sky and said, "Wow, it's Clear Blue 22." You see, as a meteorologist in the Air Force, Jasmine would use this phrase to brief the pilots of the ultimate flying conditions-clear skies with 22 miles of visibility. Paul, Don, & Dave liked the idea of having Clear Blue 22 as a band name, so they adopted it. Clear Blue 22 has been taking Northern Nevada by storm for nearly 4 years. With the ultimate flying conditions on their side and their first full-length CD's recent release, Clear Blue 22 is ready to soar to the top of the charts!

One of Northern Nevada's favorite country bands, Clear Blue 22, recently joined the ranks of Nashville recording artists with the release of their first full-length CD titled "Right Now." Clear Blue 22—Jasmine Schwader, Paul Reyes, Don Simpson and Dave Block—has been taking Northern Nevada by storm for nearly 4 years. "Right Now" was recorded and Produced by Paul Jefferson, singer-songwriter best known for his chart-topper "That's as Close as I'll Get to Loving You" recorded by Aaron Tippin and for his role as front-man for the up-and-coming Nashville act, Hilljack. The album features 5 Clear Blue 22 originals and songs written by some of Nashville's finest including Jefferson, Porter Howell, Kent Robbins and Sonny LeMaire. In addition to some of Nashville's best songwriters, the album also features some of its finest musicians with lead guitar tracks from Porter Howell (Little Texas), keys from Boh Cooper (Rascal Flatts) and pedal steel tracks from the legendary Bruce Bouton. Clear Blue 22's name comes from Schwader's days as a meteorologist in the U.S. Air Force. She would use the term "Clear Blue 22" to brief pilots of the ultimate flying conditions—clear, blue skies with 22 miles of visibility. With the ultimate flying conditions on their side and the release of their first single "The Devil in Me," Clear Blue 22 is ready to soar to the top of the charts!
